Firstly & most importantly, you must be a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD ) in order to use the services of Teledermatologist.

Advantages of being a Teledermatologist specialist.

There are many great reasons why engaging Teledermatologist makes good sense. Primarily you can make a real difference to communities that don’t have reasonable access to a Specialist Dermatologist. Our service is provided from Norfolk Island to Broome, Darwin and to Tasmania.

For many people a visit to a Specialist Dermatologist involves flights and accommodation, a lengthy drive or perhaps the patient’s mobility to travel is problematic. Teledermatologist removes these barriers to Specialist care.

Complete Flexibility

You may be working in practice a few days a week and feel you might like to do additional hours without wanting to leave home. You may be looking towards retirement and would like to continue to work a day or two a week. You may be starting a new practice and would like to supplement your income as your practice grows. Regardless, engaging Teledermatologist can facilitate an extra source of income and allow you to work from home or wherever there is reasonable internet connection & privacy.

Consultation Payments

Specialists who engage Teledermatologist are either Sole Traders or trade through an entity or trust. Teledermatologist collects the patient payment and banks on the Dermatologist’s behalf.  100% of this payment is paid into the Specialist’s bank account. Teledermatologist invoices the Specialist for a service fee of 40% (+GST) of the total consultation fees.

  • You will be required to sign our engagement contract.

  • You will need to make application to Medicare for a provider number to Teledermatologist

  • You will need to notify your medical indemnity provider that you intend doing telehealth consultations and name Teledermatologist and Telehealth Specialists Australia Pty Ltd as service providers you are engaging. This does not usually involve any increase in your insurance premium.

This can take anywhere from 48 hours, up to 3 weeks. To streamline this process we recommend using the PRODA & HPOS options to acquire a provider number.
