Alopecia (hair loss) treatment online
Alopecia simply means hair loss, and it has many causes: patterned hair loss, autoimmune alopecia areata, scarring alopecias, and shedding triggered by illness, stress or medication. Each behaves and is managed differently, which is why an accurate diagnosis early makes a real difference.
How a telehealth consultation helps
Your Dermatologist works from your photos, history and consultation to identify the type of hair loss and its likely course, then sets out the management options appropriate to your diagnosis. Where in-person tests are needed, they'll direct you to the right pathway rather than leave you guessing.
When to see a Dermatologist
Sooner rather than later. With several forms of hair loss, earlier assessment protects more hair, so if you're noticing shedding, patches or thinning, don't wait to see whether it settles.
Before your consultation: four photos
Every consultation needs four clear photos of your skin condition, emailed to us at least one hour before your appointment. Your consultation can't go ahead without them.
- Photo 1: about 1 metre away
- Photo 2: about 20cm away
- Photo 3: about 5cm away
- Photo 4: as close as your camera allows
Email them to coordinator@teledermatologist.com.au with your full name in the subject line.
A nurse, carer or family member can help you take them, or call us and we'll arrange assistance.
