Psoriasis treatment online

Psoriasis causes thickened, scaly, often itchy plaques, commonly on the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back, because skin cells are produced faster than normal. It's a long-term immune-mediated condition that ranges from a few patches to widespread involvement, and it can be associated with joint symptoms.

How a telehealth consultation helps

Psoriasis management has advanced enormously, and matching the right approach to the severity and pattern of your psoriasis is specialist work. Your Dermatologist assesses extent and impact from your photos and consultation, and manages your treatment over time through follow-up appointments.

When to see a Dermatologist

If psoriasis covers more than a small area, involves your scalp, nails or joints, or isn't controlled by what you've been prescribed so far, a Dermatologist should be involved.

Before your consultation: four photos

Every consultation needs four clear photos of your skin condition, emailed to us at least one hour before your appointment. Your consultation can't go ahead without them.

  • Photo 1: about 1 metre away
  • Photo 2: about 20cm away
  • Photo 3: about 5cm away
  • Photo 4: as close as your camera allows

Email them to coordinator@teledermatologist.com.au with your full name in the subject line.

A nurse, carer or family member can help you take them, or call us and we'll arrange assistance.

Common questions about psoriasis

It's a long-term condition, but it is very treatable. The goal of specialist management is clear or nearly clear skin and a plan that keeps it that way.

Book a psoriasis consultation

Prepayment is required at booking. You'll need a referral for a Medicare rebate, but you can book without one.
