Rosacea treatment online

Rosacea causes persistent redness, flushing, visible blood vessels and sometimes acne-like bumps, usually across the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. It most often appears in adults over 30 and can be mistaken for acne or sensitive skin, which means many people treat it with the wrong products for years.

How a telehealth consultation helps

An accurate diagnosis is the most valuable thing a specialist brings to rosacea, because treatment depends on which features are present. Your Dermatologist reviews your photos and history, confirms whether rosacea is what you're dealing with, and sets out a management plan including the everyday triggers worth avoiding.

When to see a Dermatologist

If facial redness or flushing is persistent, worsening, or hasn't responded to what your GP or pharmacist has suggested, a specialist opinion is worthwhile, particularly because rosacea is commonly misdiagnosed.

Before your consultation: four photos

Every consultation needs four clear photos of your skin condition, emailed to us at least one hour before your appointment. Your consultation can't go ahead without them.

  • Photo 1: about 1 metre away
  • Photo 2: about 20cm away
  • Photo 3: about 5cm away
  • Photo 4: as close as your camera allows

Email them to coordinator@teledermatologist.com.au with your full name in the subject line.

A nurse, carer or family member can help you take them, or call us and we'll arrange assistance.

Common questions about rosacea

You often can't tell without training. The two are frequently confused, and they're managed differently. That distinction is exactly what a Dermatologist's assessment settles.

Prepayment is required at booking. You'll need a referral for a Medicare rebate, but you can book without one.
